When: BIG was founded in 2002.

Who: Founded in 2002 by a group of pioneering Black professionals in gaming, Black in Gaming (BIG) is composed of diverse industry leaders, established professionals, and aspiring talent who are committed to advancing Black representation in the video game industry.


What: BIG is a dedicated community organization that offers educational resources, leadership development, and networking opportunities to support Black individuals in gaming, aiming to enhance their career prospects and foster an inclusive environment.

Where: Initially established in the United States, BIG now operates globally, engaging with members through virtual and in-person events, partnerships, and community initiatives.

Why: BIG was founded to address the challenges of microaggressions, implicit biases, and discrimination faced by Black professionals in gaming, with a mission to connect, educate, and empower Black talent, ultimately striving for equitable representation in the industry.
